Furnace & AC Service for Festus Homeowners
Ricotta Heating & Air provides residential HVAC service in Festus, Missouri, including furnace repair, air conditioning service, system maintenance and HVAC replacement estimates. Our family-owned company has served Missouri homeowners since 1974.
Festus Homes Run a Real Range
Festus has solid 1950s brick ranches with original gravity-fed ductwork, 1990s subdivisions on the west side that all got the same builder-grade Goodman furnaces (most are now due), and rural acreage running propane split systems. The river-valley humidity here also chews up evaporator coils faster than further west — annual coil cleaning is genuinely worth it in Festus.
On a no-cool visit in Festus, we check refrigerant, capacitors, coils, drainage, airflow, thermostat operation, and electrical connections before quoting a repair. That full diagnostic is especially useful in older homes where restrictive ductwork can look like equipment failure. If the system is near the end of its useful life, we also provide a free replacement estimate without turning the service call into a sales pitch.
Furnace Repair & Heating Service in Festus
Festus runs from older Mississippi Avenue brick ranches to 1990s subdivisions off Highway 67 and rural acreage out toward Plattin — we know what's installed on each street.
A furnace that will not start, blows cool air, or cycles repeatedly needs a diagnosis before parts are replaced. Ricotta checks the thermostat, ignition, flame sensor, blower and airflow to identify the fault and explain repair options. For aging equipment, compare repair with replacement based on condition, comfort and cost—not sales pressure.
Diagnostics on existing equipment carry a service call fee; estimates for system replacement are free. Call for current availability if your Festus home has no heat.
Signs You Need AC Repair in Festus
- Vents blowing warm or room-temperature air
- Weak airflow even with the system running
- Short cycling (turns on and off rapidly)
- Energy bills climbing without a change in usage
- Rattling, hissing, or grinding noises
- Musty or burning odors when the AC runs
- Water pooling or ice forming around the unit
What We Check on an AC Service Call
- Refrigerant charge and leaks
- Capacitor and contactor
- Evaporator and condenser coils
- Condensate drain
- Filter and airflow
- Thermostat calibration
- Electrical connections
Most cooling failures trace back to one of these — we diagnose the real fault before quoting, so you're not paying for parts you don't need.

AC repair costs depend on the diagnosis, parts, and labor. Ask about diagnostic charges when scheduling; free estimates apply to system replacement.

Call during our 7 AM–8 PM hours to confirm the next available appointment in Jefferson County. Scheduling depends on demand and the repair needed.
My AC is blowing warm air — can you fix it?
Usually yes; warm air typically means low refrigerant, a failed capacitor, or a frozen coil — all things we carry parts for.
Should I repair or replace my AC?
If your unit is 12+ years old and the repair tops about $1,500, we'll lay out the honest repair-vs-replace math.
